Chicago & the Winter Classic

I was fortunate enough to head over to Chicago for a couple of days over New Years for the Winter Classic outdoor hockey game between the Red Wings and Blackhawks! Despite the fact that it was VERY cold New Years Eve morning, I had to get out and take some photos of the great city of Chicago!

 

 

 

 

 

Since I didn’t want to lug around my regular camera to the actual game, these last ones were taken with my point and shoot. The game was AWESOME! Probably the best sporting event I’ve attended so far (thanks to the fact that the Wings LOST in game 5 of the playoffs last year when they could’ve won the cup…but I’m not bitter…) but I digress…we all had a great time and I would do it again in a heart beat!

HAPPY DAY!

The camera gods shined down on me friday in the form of my brand new Canon 5D Mark II!!! Now I realize this may be boring to most of you but I have been waiting for this camera for what feels like FOREVER! Seriously, this camera has been rumored and in the works for quite a while and I can’t believe I finally have one! So, I just wanted to introduce my name baby to all of you! I’ve already taken him out for a couple of shoots (blog posts to come) and I just love him! Even though we are still getting to know each other I know that his is going to be a long and beautiful relationship! 🙂

I’m it!

Apparently there’s a little game of tag going around on the internet and I’ve been tagged by my friend, Cheryl, to list 6 random things about myself. Here goes…

1. I am a certified pet dog trainer.
   
2. I was a bald little kid! I was blonde and it was very short until it started growing when I was about two. My family still makes fun of me for it pretty much every Holiday. It didn’t help that I would wear a nightgown on my head and pretend it was my long hair like my cousins had.
   
3. I can’t spell. I mean I’m really really really bad at it!
4. My two Bernese Mountain dogs (total combined weight of 190lbs) sleep in bed with my husband and I. Yeah…we need a king size bed.
5. I’ve been a vegetarian for over half of my life.
6. I went to an art school but majored in Art Direction, not Photography!
